The Ministry of National Defense is responsible for the defense of the People's State of San Andreas against foreign aggression.
About the armed forces
Since the People's State of San Andreas' membership in the Union Against Micronational Warfare, it had reduced its armed forces into a paramilitary unit known as the People's Security Force.
The current head of the People's Security Force is General Josef Larracas, the Minister of National Defense, under the Supreme Commander, President Migs Caldeo.

COMBAT HISTORY OF THE PEOPLE'S NATIONAL ARMY
GRAND INTERMICRONATIONAL ALLIANCE CRISIS (May 10 - May 24, 2012)
This 2-week crisis was the result of the Grand Intermicronational Alliance's victory over their war against the League of Countries.
The People's National Army assessed that the GIA was a threat to San Andreas, and decided that an embargo should be placed on the alliance. The armed forces were also deployed during the crisis. Peace talks were held between San Andreas and the GIA, and after 2 weeks, the country finally joined the alliance and lift the embargo placed on them, ending the crisis.
FORTANIAN CIVIL WAR (June 30 - July 9, 2012)
The Fortanian Civil War was the first instance were the country participated in a foreign war. San Andreas withdrew after 10 days after an investigation by the People's Court revealing that Fortania was the aggressor and the instigator of the war.
SAN ANDREAS - FORTANIA CRISIS (July 9 - July 18, 2012)
The San Andreas - Fortania Crisis were a series of misunderstandings between the People's State of San Andreas and the Kingdom of Fortania. The increasing anger between both sides paved way for the Seven-Hour War.
SEVEN-HOUR WAR (July 18, 2012)
The Seven-Hour War lasted from 10:03 - 17:33 SAST on July 18, 2012. The war began after Fortania released a declaration of war, in which the San Andrean government is unaware of. Further conflict were avoided when Fortania withdrew this declaration at 17:33 SAST, a few minutes after the government realized the crisis. Both nations signed a peace treaty to formally end the war.
